Computers are now a fact of life. They have created highly effective information systems that help streamline the management of organizations. As a result, computers have become an essential tool in every sector, including business, banking, government, entertainment, daily life, industry, and administration. It can be observed that all large organizations, whether in the public or private sector, use computers for a wide range of daily operations. Moreover, the information technology industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world today.
Even in the field of education, the contribution of information technology is extensive. As a leading university in Sri Lanka, it is the responsibility of the University of Kelaniya to provide students with the necessary knowledge and exposure to information technology.
The information technology industry is developing rapidly day by day; therefore, the knowledge and opportunities available to explore new technologies must also be continuously enhanced. In order for students to keep pace with technological advancements, it is essential to identify the ICT needs of undergraduates from the students’ perspective.
Under these circumstances, measuring the level of student satisfaction with the ICT facilities provided by the university is crucial, as it will help identify areas that require further improvement.
